Prudential with profits funds are operated and run by Prudential Assurance Company Ltd. This is a company which is part of Prudential PLC, an organisation with around 23 million customers in the UK, US and Asia. Of the 23 million customers, 7 million customers are in the UK.
Company history
Prudential has a 165 year history – retaining its core principle of Prudence in its approach through this time period. This is reflected by its iconic company logo.
Unlike many of its peers it has resisted the urge to chop and change its name, to merge or embroil itself in complicated takeovers. This is reflected positively in the way it has managed its various with-profits investments on behalf of policyholders.
Prudential With Profit Funds
Prudential operate the largest with-profits fund in the UK, worth around £72 billion at the beginning of 2014. This embraces a series of products and plans which incorporate all Prudential pension products (both personal and corporate) which have access to with-profits; their various With-Profits Bond products; they also have all Scottish Amicable products under their with-profits fund (so if you held a Scottish Amicable policy, an endowment or pension, this will now be run by Prudential). They also run the old Equitable Life with-profits annuity policies for those that remain in these.
